Making Iced Matcha

Adding matcha to cold water is a simple way to make a refreshing summer beverage. The trick is to get the matcha to integrate completely with the water. Our preferred method uses a cocktail shaker. Since matcha is powdered green tea it doesn't actually dissolve, so over time it will come out of solution. Sifting the tea will insure that there are no clumps of powder in your beverage.

A simpler method is to pour out an ounce or two of water from a 16 oz bottle of water. Water labeled "spring" or "drinking" is ideal. Add a teaspoon of sifted matcha, and cap the bottle. Then shake until the matcha is integrated and not sitting on the bottom or floating on top.
