Harvested in May, Emerald Spring comes from Hubei, China the birthplace of the steaming process most commonly used to produce Japanese green tea. It is steamed and pan-fired and highlights flavors from both processes. The flavor is sweet and vibrant, with a buttery, nuttiness. Brewing with a lower water temperature will decrease the astringency and bitterness, accentuating the sweetness of the tea.
GREEN TEA BREWING GUIDE
- Preheat the teapot with hot water.
- Empty preheating water.
- Add 7g (2-3 tsp.) of green tea.
- Add 180ºF water to the 400ml mark.
- Steep for 3 minutes.
- Pour into cup or preheated serving pitcher.
