Katakuchi

A katakuchi is a spouted bowl traditionally used for serving sake. The size, shape and texture of our Katakuchi is perfect for preparing matcha. The spout allows it to be easily poured into another vessel for service. It also makes an excellent vessel to cool water for delicate green teas. Each handmade Katakuchi was produced in a second generation pottery studio famous for its Shitoro Yaki style ceramics, and holds approximately 500ml (16 oz) of water. Due to variations in production, each Katakuchi is slightly different.
