This lightly-steamed shincha from Shizuoka was made from the machiko cultivar. It displays a characteristic sakura blossom (cherry blossom) flavor, that tastes similar to marzipan, that only appears when the plant is properly grown, harvested at the correct time, and meticulously processed.

In a 400 ml kyusu or glass teapot steep 10 -12 grams in 160-165F water for 1-1.5 minutes.
