Thai Assamica

This is a sun-dried black tea that was harvested from old growth, heirloom Assamica variety tea trees that were planted in Northern Thailand's Chiangri Province, most likely by early tea pioneers. The exact age of the trees isn't known, but the current tea farmers of the region prize these trees for the tea's low astringency and strong flavor, that when sun dried, display a sweet, dried fruit character. For a 12 ounce pot, steep 5 or 6 grams of tea for 3-5 minutes in water off the boil. Ingredients: Black Tea
