Yabukita Red

Black tea, often referred to as red tea, due to the color in the cup, was commonly produced into the 1950s. Now Japan is known primarily for green tea, such as matcha, but we have sourced a unique offering from Shizouka made from the Yabukita variety, commonly used to make sencha and other green teas. The flavor is sweet, with notes of plum, chrysanthemum., and hint of maltiness. For a 12 ounce pot, steep 5 or 6 grams of tea for 3-5 minutes in water off the boil. Ingredients: Black Tea
