It was produced in small batches in the very old growing region located near the city of Yame in Fukuoka Prefecture. It was carefully stone-ground to preserve the delicate aroma and flavor. The flavor is a balance of umami, sweetness, and bitterness, with a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel. This versatile matcha can be served as usucha (thin tea), over ice, or blended with steamed milk to create a green tea latte.
